JCCC Competition Posters

I created this on Illustrator CS6. The dragon was created with the pen tool and the symbol in the middle was created with the brush tool. The color is inspired from the Chinese flag and the pepsi thingy is from the Korean flag and the circle in the center is from the Japanese Flag. Tada.
I created this on Illustrator CS6. The banner was created with the pen tool. The city sillhouette was created with the pen tool. And so was the runner. The swivel thing is a brush.

Kawaii Vegetables

I created these Kawaii Vegetables on Adobe Illustrator CS5. I found them on a website and they looked super cute to me so I had to recreate them. I created them using the pen tool, eclipse tool, and lines. They turned out pretty good.

Here's the original.

Flower Girl

I created this using Adobe Illustrator CS5. I made the hair using symbols found in the brush library. The leaves were also a brush. To make the leaves look transparent i just changed the opacity. And I made her face using the pen tool.

Portfolio Cover

I created this using Adobe Illustrator CS5. I used various different fonts and the brush tool to create the banner. Some of the fonts used include: klinic personal, lavenderia, carton, fairfax, etc.
The image of my son was taken by my friend Kristy Thow (foreverkristy).
I just put a separate green box in a different layer and changed the opacity to create a faded look.
And in order to bend the words i just created an envelope thingy.

Abstract Text

This is just some abstract stuff I was playing with. I used cloud brushes to get the background effect. Smoke brushes to add some effects around the K and some dirt brushes around edges and the letter K. Also I used a mask layer to get the K to vary colors.

Aidan Sketch

Aidan sketch. I created this using Adobe Illustrator CS5. I had a difficult time with his eyes so i just gave up and wrote the word "eyes".  I used the pen tool to create the image and I used the gradient tool do do shading. I also used the drop shadow effect for some of his body parts to make it look a little more distinct.

License 2

Same as the first but i added the words instead.

License Plate SMNW

License Plate for Shawnee Mission Northwest Cougars. I used the pencil tool, polygon tool, text tool, drop shadow, and direct selection tool to create this. I tried to make it to where it looked like the cougar was popping out of the paperish. Yup.

Warp and Offset Path

This is the warp and offset path text. I didn't fully follow the tutorial. I just kinda went for it using the text tool and the direct selection tool. I don't even know where I was going with this. I made the stick figure using the Ellipse tool and lines.

Tree

To create the sun and apples just use the Ellipse tool and pick a color. The bushes and the leafy part of the tree is just a bunch of circles meshed together. I used a gradient background, and a light green rectangle for the grass.

Swish 1 & 2

To create the rounded lines you need to create two different shaped circles/ellipses with the ellipse tool. Then using the pathfinder you're able to cut out most of the shape and create a shape that you want. Number 2 has shading added to it and I have no idea what these are supposed to be.
I actually really like the 1st one though.

Swoosh

This was probably my favorite outcome out of my tutorial projects.
The tutorial teaches you how too make the swirly thingys. I used them to make a tree (use the brush tool). And  I added a pink circle using the Ellipse Tool.

Blend Patterns

I used the ellipse tool to create the circles and used the blending tools to alter the shape of the circles. Then using the direct selection tool and swatches I was able to change the colors of the lines.
Although it wasn't mentioned in the tutorial, I figured out that if you move the center circle with the direct selection tool it changes shape, and I made mine, look very similar to a clam/shell.

Mesh Flower

I used the pen tool to draw the petals, the pencil tool to free hand the lighter pink shape, and for the center I used a hexagon and altered the sides with the direct selection tool.

3D Easter Egg

3D Easter Egg. I used the elipse tool and symbols, and the 3D revolving to create an easter egg.

Radial Blur

This is another tutorial and I used the radial blur tool.
